As a young child Lydia lived in New York City. She recalls sitting in front of her family's large wooden kitchen table with a pencil in one hand and a piece of torn brown paper bag on the table. She sat there for hours drawing and tuning out the loud city noise. As she grew older her passion for drawing became stronger and she continued to experiment with different art materials.
Lydia loves to paint people and their life styles. Lydia visited many museums and found herself filled with wonder looking at the art displayed. She wanted to learn how these paintings were done and who the artists were. Although she knew these paintings were done a long time ago she also knew that she had something in common with the artists that had painted them. Like them, Lydia loved to create her own world on canvas.
Lydia now resides in Hawaii and her colors have become as bright as the colors of paradise. She paints the everyday people she sees and meets in a primitive and whimsical style. Lydia's art can be seen in collections all over the world. Lydia's images have been featured by Hawaiian Airlines, on greeting cards and magazines, and tee-shirts. Lydia shares her artistic gift with children and adults with special needs as an art instructor.
